doesn't recommendsI only had 1 lesson and it was terrible. I have very high levels of anxiety which make it difficult to drive. Not only... did the instructor made sexist remarks against women drivers that we encountered on the road, he would not stop talking throughout the lesson so I could focus. He'd tell me to do something then proceed to keep talking while I was trying to do what he told me to do. It was insanely distracting and nerve wracking. He asked me if I was okay, and I said no. He dismissed my feelings by saying "Sure you are!"
When we were doing the basic setups for mirror adjustments and the like, I was very adamant that I didn't know if I had it setup right/that I didn't know what I was doing. Instructor was very blase and didn't care, like sure it's fine. I noticed when practicing later with friends in their cars, nothing I had done was correct and they were shocked at how I hadn't gotten into a wreck with my instructor.
I had two other paid lessons that were scheduled. I had to cancel one due to a death in the family and I contacted him that I needed to reschedule. When our scheduled date for 2/8 came he had blocked my phone number. Totally unprofessional. Do not recommend. Look for another driving school.read more

recommendsJames Island Driving school has been great to work with throughout the driver training course and driving lessons for... our daughter. The class was very informative and Mr. Anthoney kept it both entertaining and interesting with his great sense of humor. Mrs. Penny was fantastic for the one on one driving lessons and really built a sense of competence and confidence in our daughter. She also was great during the road test and continued to give encouragement when our daughter was randomly chosen to re-take the driving test with the DMV which made her quite anxious. After all of the great training, she passed with flying colors! We could not have asked for a better experience with James Island Driving School. Penny and Anthoney are the BEST! 5 Starsread more

recommendsI am currently being taught by Anthoney and I have learned more in two lessons then I did with another driving school... and they do help nervous drivers. I was terrified of driving and now I've been all over johns island, west ashley and James island and can't wait to do another lessonread more
